This miniature ship figurehead doll is constructed from wood, paper & bone and emerges from a painting of the sea. In creating this, i was reminded that both the dead calm and the stormy seas all lead us to where we are today…the circumstances of our lives and the choices we make determine our destinies.

"As I preside 
o’er moonlit tide,
 a warden of the sea.. 
Upon the wave
this solemn grave 
is where I’m called to be.
