This piece was inspired by the classic tale The Seven Ravens by the Brothers Grimm.

It is a wistful tale which extols the virtues of selflessness.

The favored daughter dolly is surrounded by her seven brothers who have been transformed into ravens, hoping to find a way to restore them to their human form.
